I completely agree the input lag alone is enough to blame for the clunky melee combat. Jumping in third person has no delay, just the beginning of movement. I know I'm probably in the minority but I love playing in third person and this problem really makes it difficult. Greetings, I've been having an odd issue lately whenever I run Skyrim with an ENB. I've heard someone say it was a deliberate design feature to make third person movement seem more realistic, and that the delay is part of some "starting to run" animation, but it's not. The problem persists even on low settings (and the game runs at 60fps on ultra high regardless). Open the file, then scroll down to where it says Controls and find bMouseAcceleration1. Create a backup of the SkyrimPrefs.ini file. Basically there is about a half second input delay when trying to start movement in a direction while playing in third person. Go to your Steam Directory, then steamapps, common, skyrim and select Skyrim again. I've seen a lot of people have this problem but I still don't know of any solution.
